The eternal question: Where do I put my money? The short answer is: it depends. The long (and profitable) answer is understanding the user's intent.
1. Google Ads: Intent marketing (Pull)
When someone searches Google for "hardware store open now" or "family lawyer in Sincelejo", they have an immediate purchase intent. They already know they have a problem and are actively looking for a solution.
Ideal for: Emergency services (locksmiths, plumbers, lawyers, doctors), specific products.
2. Meta Ads: Interruption marketing (Push)
Nobody goes on Instagram to buy a house or look for a lawyer. They go to see memes and photos of friends. Meta Ads works by interrupting that scroll with something so attractive that it creates latent desire.
Ideal for: Fashion, aesthetics, real estate, restaurants, novelty products people "didn't know they needed".
The Hybrid Strategy
"Don't put all your eggs in one basket". The most successful brands use Meta to build awareness (Branding) and Google to capture the final sale (Performance) (Ries & Trout, 1981).
3. Costs and Return (ROI)
In Colombia (2025-2026), Google's CPC (Cost Per Click) tends to be higher than Meta's, but Google's conversion is greater. Meta is cheaper for reaching thousands of people, but requires more "persuasion" effort.
